God Cares About The Details
Our sixth grandchild, a twin, was born with HLHS, a life-threatening birth defect affecting blood flow to the heart. The Lord did amazing things in his little heart even before he was born. An ultrasound showed that God had performed a “surgery” in the womb, so he was able to be born right here in Idaho. Our family was rejoicing.
However, what I want to talk about is God’s grace shown to me. My husband always had to submit his vacation days the prior year. He had submitted the days for our scheduled vacations for the year following the birth of our grandson. There was one day he still had to take, so he randomly picked a day in mid-summer.
Fast-forward to the following year. Our grandson was scheduled to have his first open-heart surgery when he was a little over 9 months old. The day arrived for his surgery at Stanford in California. The date of his surgery was July 28, the exact date my husband had “randomly” picked the prior year!
My husband was able to stay at home with me, so I didn’t have to be alone here in Idaho anxiously waiting for an update. Our church had an all-day prayer vigil for him and we were able to pray together and encourage each other in the Psalms. Finally, word arrived…the surgery was successful! Praise the Lord! God knew I would need my husband with me on the day of surgery and He had him “randomly” pick that very date just for that purpose! That is God’s amazing grace!
