Lord's Supper

The Lord's Supper, The Lord's Table, the Breaking of Bread, and Communion are all names of the same event in which the Lord Jesus Christ commanded that believers "do this in remembrance of Me" (Luke 22:19, 1 Corinthians 11:23-34) He explained the bread symbolized "His body which is given for you" and the cup which "is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you," (Luke 22:19). Each week (Acts 20:17), as a part of our worship and remembrance service, we take time to "remember" Him, as He commanded. All who have trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior from sin, and seek to live a life pleasing to Him, as Lord, are invited to participate.

God's Word gives strong warning for each person to "examine himself", before eating and drinking. The Word teaches that anyone who eats and drinks in an "unworthy manner, without recognizing the body of the Lord, eats and drinks judgment on themselves," (1 Corinthians 11:23-29).

If you are not certain you are truly a Born Again Christian, or are a Christian going through a time of rebellion or disobedience toward God, we encourage you to simply observe, and not partake of the elements.

The men are encouraged to spontaneously lead the time with a song selection, prayer, or scripture reading that will promote worship and thanksgiving to our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 14:26).
